School Values
VISION AND VALUES
Trust Values
Alongside the other schools in the Mosaic Learning Trust, at Wickham Common we wholeheartedly believe in the values of Resilience, Resourcefulness and Respect. These values underpin both the curriculum that we deliver and the wider personal development of our pupils. These values are widely modelled to our pupils by all members of staff. In order to achieve this we:
Respectful
- Treat others as we would like to be treated
- Understand and celebrate difference and diversity
- Are kind, helpful and empathetic
Resilient
- Develop the confidence to keep going in the face of challenge
- Learn from our mistakes and demonstrate that failing is part of the learning process
- Know that we can respond to a challenge positively
Resourceful
- Have a positive mindset and work well together to solve problems
- Demonstrate open-mindedness, think creatively and ask questions
- Use knowledge and skills to make a positive difference
School Values
Alongside the Trust Values, at Wickham Common we also wish to instil the following core School Values in all of our learners: Acceptance, Creativity, Effort, Fun, Honesty, Integrity, Kindness, Respect and Responsibility. These are widely modelled and celebrated by staff and other role models within our school such as House Captains and Agents for Change. Each week, children who have demonstrated at least one of these values are recognised and celebrated in a whole school assembly.
Curriculum Drivers
The above is a visual representation of how our Trust Values of underpin the work that we carry out at Wickham Common as part of our wider offer and our pupil’s personal development. Central this are our Curriculum Drivers of My World, World Beyond Me and Impact on the World. In wider terms, these consider:
My World: Our children within our school community
World Beyond Me: Our local and national communities, linking to British Values
Impact on the World: The role we play as global citizens
Each subject area is led by a member of our teaching staff who is responsible for developing a curriculum for their subject that reflects and responds to the Curriculum Drivers. Our curriculum is regularly evaluated and adapted to respond to the needs of our cohorts. The Curriculum Drivers are closely intertwined with our School and Trust Values as fundamental cornerstones in the academic and personal development of our pupils.
